Event Driven Community Engagement

Problem/Goal: The organization was in need of stronger visibility and trust within the communities that we served. While there was a team that attended events there was no consistent strategy for how to engage the attendees, or how to convert the in-person interactions into meaningful follow-ups.
Action: We took a deeper look at the events that were attended in the years prior and made strategic decisions on what events would be most beneficial to attend in the next year. I also coordinated event staffing to ensure that each community event included team members who specialized in the specific focus of the event, allowing attendees to receive accurate and relevant information. Alongside these specialists, I also attended these events to help facilitate conversations, connect people with the right resources, and establish new community partners.
Skills Utilized:
Event planning and coordination
Community outreach & relationship building
On-site engagement
Content creation (photo & video)
Outcome: Community events became a stronger driver of awareness and engagement as we attended over 100 events over the course of a year. Engagement felt more purposeful, interaction follow-ups increased, and content created at events helped reinforce our presence online.
